The Big Mac Index, developed by The Economist, serves as a widely recognized tool for international price comparison. In our study, titled "Big Mac Affordability and Income Inequality Across the European Union," we analyze disparities in purchasing power across selected European Union countries to gain a more precise understanding of the real scope of income inequality within the region. This approach allows us to distinguish between inter-country and intra-country variations in purchasing power inequality.

The datasets utilized in this analysis were compiled independently. For a detailed explanation of the methods used to calculate income inequality, specifically the Gini coefficient, please refer to the methodology section of the paper, "Big Mac Affordability and Income Inequality Across the European Union."

Another study delves into the multifaceted issue of inequality in Turkey, analyzing overall and regional disparities as well as wage and gender inequalities in the labor market. Through the lens of the Big Mac Index, we investigate purchasing power and discover a decrease in regional inequality between 2002 and 2020. The article, "An Investigation of Income and Wage Inequality in Turkey Using Burgernomics ", calculates purchasing power inequality in each Turkish province. In this way, we are able to see purchasing power within provinces and able to calculate regional inequality by purchasing power (Big Mac Affordability).
